Who owns the 26 seconds that recorded the murder of John F. Kennedy? Mark Groubert and Eric Hunley sit down with attorneys Mark Javitch and Jonathan Gross to analyze their legal battle over the Zapruder film copyright, followed by returning guest Robert Groden.
Mark Groubert and Eric Hunley explore the historic legal challenge surrounding Abraham Zapruder's home movie of the Dealey Plaza ambush. Attorneys Mark Javitch and Jonathan Gross join the show to break down their federal lawsuit challenging the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza’s copyright and licensing chokehold over the footage, examining the 1999 federal taking, public domain claims, and fair use.
Later in the broadcast, legendary photographic analyst and author Robert Groden joins the panel. Groden, who famously broke the blackout by airing a copy of the Zapruder film to millions on Geraldo Rivera's Good Night America in 1975, shares his firsthand history battling institutions over access to the photographic record and what this latest ruling means for researchers.
